Thin Solid Film
Metals Solar cells, displays, food packaging, anticorrosive, antimicrobial, antireflective functional coatings - SPR helps to reduce the coating thickness while maintaining the functionality. SPR allows measurement of interactions as well as thickness and complex refractive index of ultrathin metal coatings from 3Å to 100nm.
Graphene SPR is an ideal tool for development of graphene coatings for biosensing, gas sensing, composites, displays and other applications. SPR measures thickness of graphene from single monolayer and also its changes and interactions with molecules in real-time.
Oxides SPR measures thickness of ultrathin films of metals, oxides and ceramics up to 100 nm. It can be applied to a wider range of applications from semiconductors to biological implant coatings. Refractive index, moisture interaction and antifouling can be characterized too.
Soft Materials
Biomaterials SPR can measures interactions to hydrogels from ultrathin films up to 5 µm, which makes it the most sensitive label-free technique for biomaterial interaction studies and layer characterization. For example measurement of protein adsorption to polymer without water artefacts and real-time polymer brush collapse.
Nanocellulose Green plastics, food additives, drug delivery, implants, composites, paints, organic solar cells, printed electronics, biosensors,... Nanocellulose can be used in different applications by selecting a favourable characteristics of the material. SPR is used by researchers around the world to develop nanocellulose for different applications.
Electrochemistry SPR can be combined with electrochemistry to measure interactions and conformation changes under different electric potential, pH and temperature. SPR can be also used to develop electrochemical biosensors or to characterize electrically-induced reactions such as electropolymerization or corrosion.
Sensing
Biosensor Development From nanoparticle-based competitive assays through electrochemical sensors to direct assays, SPR shows all the steps of your assay may you work with glass, polymer, silica or metal surfaces!
Gassensor Development SPR works also with gas samples, and is exremely sensitive for gas detection. Even hydrogen with molecular weight of 2 daltons can be measured. Applications for example in gas storage, detection and swelling of films due to organic vapors.
Nanoparticles Whether you develop metal, silica, polymer or other nanoparticles, SPR is an excellent choice for nanoparticle characterization. Get your before and after images with TEM, SEM or AFM. See the dynamics of self-assembly, targeting, release or internalization in real-time with SPR!
